St Patrick's day in Bandon a special occasion.

Congrats to the organisers of one of the best attended events ever to take place in Bandon over the last few years. This year's St Patrick's day was a huge success.

The fine weather put the finishing touches on a magnificent parade which comprised of so many of the clubs, groups and voluntary activities from the wider Bandon area.

Street entertainment was enjoyed by many before, during and after the parade.

You'll see above just a taste of what was on offer.
We trust you all had agreat day out.

Hockey teams do Bandon proud.

Last Wednesday saw history being made in the Munster Senior A Grirls Hockey Final with Colaiste na Toirbhirte challenging Bandon Grammar School for the honours in the very first all-Bandon final.

The setting was bedecked with pink, red and black and the vocal support will live long in the memory of both players and spectators.

Both teams played well in a very tense, hard fought and competitive game.

While the honours went to the Grammar School with an Olivia Roycroft goal from a short corner, Colaiste showed a great competitive spirit in making the Grammar fight all the way.

Showing great sportsmanship ... Bandon Grammar School students consoling Colaiste na Toirbhirte's goalkeeper after the final whistle.

Bandon - Centre of excellence for Munster Girls Hockey

History will be made tomorrow (Wednesday, March 4) when, for the first time, the Munster girls Senior hockey final will be an all Bandon affair.

Bandon's Coláiste na Toirbhirte and Bandon Grammar School will be the opposing teams in what should prove to be a hard contested local derby that will take place in Garryduff. The game will start at 2.30.

No matter what the result is, the people of Bandon are proud of the efforts of both teams and their respective coaches and come tomorrow afternoon, another Munster title will be making it's way to Bandon.

Best of luck to all in what should be an epic encounter.
