Bandon Tidy Towns
The Transition Town Bandon group and Bandon Tidy Towns got together on Friday, 12th March and planted over 100 native trees on the Bandon bypass as the town's contribution to National Tree Week.
Students from Colaiste na Tobhairte and St Brogans helped with the planting as did volunteers from the Rosmini centre and from Cope.
Fruit trees were given to Bandon Grammar School, the Gael Scoil, Laragh National School and St Brogans and will be planted in the school grounds by the students.
A further 200 trees will be planted next Friday to complete the project.
